FAQ+A

Do I need to log in to access the library remotely?

Answer

If you are logged in to the Fred Hutch VPN, you shouldn't need to enter a login to access the library's electronic resources.

If you are not logged in to the Fred Hutch VPN, then you'll need to use the library's Remote Access Service in order to access electronic resources. Here's how:

  • Visit the library's homepage (restricted access; HutchNetID & password needed to access CenterNet)
  • On the right hand side of the page, beneath "Related Pages," click the Off-Campus Login link
  • Enter your HutchNetID & password
  • You will then be connected to our proxy service
  • From there you can visit our journal list, databases and other resources as though you were on campus
  • Typically, you need only log into the proxy service once per Internet connection

As always, feel free to contact us via email, phone (206.667.4314) or individually via MS Teams chat or Skype if you have any questions!
